Dr. Anand Bharatan
With more than 600 donor living transplantations and 200 deceased donors liver transplantation till date, Dr. Anand Bharathan is well versed in donor organ recovery and is proficient in liver resections in living liver donors.
In the year 2002, he completed the degree in MBBS (graduation) from the Government Coimbatore Medical College. He completed his basic surgical training from the same college and received MS (General Surgery) degree in 2005. For the highest surgical degree, he went to the prestigious Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences, Hyderabad and received the degree of DNB (Surgical Gastroenterology)
Just after his higher training, he selected as an Associate Professor and a consultant in world’s most renowned medical institution i.e. Christian Medical College, Vellore.
He underwent the Liver Transplant training at Global Health City, Chennai. The renowned liver transplant surgeon, Prof Mohamed Rela guided him in his training period. After completing the training period, Dr. Anand was honored with Post Doctoral Fellowship in Liver transplantation by Dr. MGR Medical University in 2013.
In addition to this, with several hands on liver transplant experiences, Dr. Anand Bharathan is skilled in selecting patients for liver transplantation and also guides other for the postoperative care of patients with transplants.
Dr. Anand is also expertise in treating hepatocellular carcinoma, hilar cholangiocarcinoma, and metastatic liver diseases. He has done more than 100 successful operations for bile duct injuries.
